  • Is broadband or satellite necessary for telework?

  • What role does videoconferencing have in telework?

  • Is broadband necessary for telecommuting?

In most cases, unless telework is used very sporadically, it is absolutely critical that the teleworker can communicate easily with coworkers and customers. That means that a broadband or satellite Internet connection is very important.

In some cases technology avenues may be difficult to access when traveling in certain geographic areas with limited remote technology, although this is less of a challenge than a few years ago. As wireless technology becomes more efficient and connectivity is improved, there will be even more reliance on the ability to instantaneously connect with data, people and the web.    [top]

As technology has changed, web casting and videoconferencing are most frequently the best ways to simulate face-to-face conversation, giving the parties involved the chance to read each other's body language and facial expressions.     [top]
