The Midwest Institute for Telecommuting Education (MITE) offers a variety of products and services to help organizations successfully implement telecommuting work arrangements. Telework: Set Up to Succeed, The MITE Telework Manual The manual is a practical guide to telework filled with more than 100 pages of instruction, real-life examples, worksheets and articles. Materials are drawn from the experiences of over 50 businesses and government agencies. This manual covers a broad range of issues related to telework, including the initial steps of beginning a telework program, the development of a comprehensive telework policy, technology specifications, home and remote office set up, managing teleworkers and much more. Telework: The Future of Business, The MITE Telecommuting Video This is a new 20-minute video that examines the major benefits and issues related to telework. It contains interviews with individuals who deal with issues related to telework on a daily basis. They share their knowledge of telework and their experience as telecommuters, or managers of telecommuters, in order to provide a comprehensive overview of the important elements of a successful telework program. The video discusses telework with a senior systems engineer who telecommutes full-time, a department director who supervises telecommuters, and telecommutes herself, and an attorney who specializes in employment law and has many years of experience helping companies develop sound telework policies. The video will help refine current telework programs, or give basic guidelines about starting a brand new program. Consulting Services MITE offers a full range of consulting services that cover each step in the telecommuting process. Valuable for organizations who are interested in beginning a telecommuting pilot as well as organizations that have employed telecommuters for some time.
